CAA Football Week 8 Awards

RICHMOND, Va. – Student-athletes from Villanova, UAlbany and Towson have been voted as the CAA Football week eight Players of the Week, it was announced on Monday morning.
Offensive Player of the Week
John Robertson | QB | Villanova
· Finished 20-of-32 passing for 267 yards and two touchdowns at William & Mary.
· Rushed 18 times for 63 yards and a pair of scores.
· Led Villanova on a 69-yard game-winning drive in just 59 seconds, capping it with a 13-yard touchdown pass with under a minute remaining.
Defensive Player of the Week
Christian Dorsey | LB | UAlbany
· Totaled nine tackles and half a sack in UAlbany’s win at Maine.
· Forced and recovered a Maine fumble, then returned it 60 yards for a touchdown to tie the game in the first quarter.
· Added another fumble recovery in the second half.
Special Teams Player of the Week
Patrick Toole | PK | UAlbany
· Connected on field goals of 52 yards and 46 yards against Maine.
· The 52-yarder marked the longest in CAA Football this season and the second longest in UAlbany history.
· Also hit both extra point attempts.
Rookie of the Week
James Simms | LB | Towson
· Recorded six tackles and 1.5 tackles-for-loss in Towson’s win at Delaware.
· Clinched the victory with an interception as UD was down just seven and driving in the game’s final minute.
· The interception was the first of his career.
