Volleyball #CAAChamps Field Set

RICHMOND, Va. (Nov. 16, 2014) - The field is set for the 2014 CAA Volleyball Championship, and for the second straight year, College of Charleston will be the host and top seed. The Tournament will take place from November 21-23 in Charleston, S.C.
The six-team championship field was not finalized until Sunday, though the top two seeds were determined on Friday night, when CofC defeated Hofstra in five sets to earn the right to host the championship. The final four spots, held in order by Towson, UNCW, Delaware and James Madison, weren't determined until some of the final sets and matches concluded this weekend.
All matches for the championship will take place on the Cougars’ campus in the F. Mitchell Johnson Center.
The tournament kicks off in quarterfinal action on Friday, November 21 as #4 UNCW (20-10, 10-6 in CAA) squares off against #5 Delaware (15-16, 8-8 in CAA) at 4:00 p.m., followed by #3 Towson (27-4, 13-3 in CAA) against #6 James Madison (16-13, 8-8 in CAA) at 7:00 p.m.
In Saturday's semifinals, top-seeded CofC (22-9, 14-2 in CAA) takes on the UNCW/Delaware winner at 1:00 p.m. The second-seeded Pride of Hofstra (26-5, 13-3 in CAA) meets the Towson/James Madison winner at 4:00 p.m.
The CAA title match, which is televised this year, will be played at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 23, with the winner earning the league's automatic bid to the 2014 NCAA Women's Volleyball Championship Tournament.
