CAA Football Week 3 Awards

RICHMOND, Va. – CAA Football announced its week three league honors on Monday morning, with New Hampshire quarterback Sean Goldrich, James Madison defensive lineman Sage Harold, Towson punt returner Derrick Joseph and Towson linebacker James Simms claiming awards.
Offensive Player of the Week
Sean Goldrich | QB | New Hampshire
· Completed 27 of 40 passes for 422 yards and four touchdowns in UNH’s win over Lehigh. The scoring passes came from 53, 52, 35 and 31 yards.
· Added 64 rushing yards on 10 carries.
· His 422 passing yards set a career high and the four touchdowns matched a career best.
Defensive Player of the Week
Sage Harold | DL | James Madison
· Matched a JMU game high with 10 tackles, including seven solos in the Dukes’ victory against Saint Francis.
· Also contributed a sack, a tackle-for-loss, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery in the win.
Special Teams Player of the Week
Derrick Joseph | PR | Towson
· Returned a Delaware State punt 81 yards for a touchdown in the fourth quarter, giving Towson a two-score lead.
· The play marked Joseph’s first-career punt return for a touchdown, and was the longest punt return in the CAA so far this season.
Rookie of the Week
James Simms | LB | Towson
· Posted a team-best 11 tackles – including one behind the line of scrimmage - for Towson against Delaware State.
· Forced a fumble on the game’s opening kickoff, leading to a Tigers recovery and subsequent field goal.
