ASN to Air WBB Championship Quarterfinals

RICHMOND, Va. (February 26, 2015) – The Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) has reached an agreement with the American Sports Network (ASN) to nationally broadcast the quarterfinals of the 2015 CAA Women’s Basketball Championship live from Upper Marlboro, Md.

The four quarterfinal games will be held on Friday, March 13 with action beginning at 12:00 p.m. at The Show Place Arena. The first game of the day will feature top-seeded James Madison University, which is receiving votes in both national polls, against the winner of the contest between the No. 8 and No. 9 seeds. The remaining games are slated to begin at approximately 2:30, 5:00, and 7:30 p.m.
 
ASN, which televised five CAA women’s basketball games during the regular season, is distributed nationwide to approximately 43.4 million households through Sinclair Broadcasting Group stations. Sinclair Broadcasting Group includes 164 television stations and affiliations with all the major networks and reaches approximately 38.2 percent of U.S. television households.
 
The CAA will be one of just seven conferences to have their women’s basketball tournament quarterfinals broadcast on national television this championship season.
 
The four games on ASN follow a previously announced television package which has Comcast SportsNet airing the semifinals on Saturday, March 14 at 1:00 p.m. and 3:30 p.m., and the championship game at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 15. First round games will be streamed live on CAA.TV.
