CAA Football Rewind - Week 8

Road teams picked up victories in four of the five games played on Week 8 of the CAA Football season.

Stony Brook (5-2, 4-0) moved into a tie for first place with James Madison after defeating Delaware (2-5, 0-4), 28-3. Senior Stacey Bedell rushed for 120 yards and 2 TD's and the Seawolves' defense forced five fumbles and limited the Blue Hens to 238 total yards. Maine (4-3, 3-1) got past Rhode Island (1-7, 0-5), 28-21, for its fourth straight win. The Black Bears' defense intercepted five passes, including one in the end zone as time expired.

In a battle of nationally ranked squads, Villanova (6-2, 4-1) topped UAlbany (4-3, 1-3), 24-13. Aaron Forbes ran for a career-high 151 yards and 2 TD's for the Wildcats and the VU defense recorded nine sacks, which is the most by any FCS team this season. Richmond (7-1, 4-1) posted its fifth consecutive victory with a 35-7 triumph at Elon (2-5, 1-3). Freshman Deontez Thompson ran for 116 yards and a TD and the Spiders' defense held the Phoenix to 248 total yards. New Hampshire (5-3, 4-1) scored a pair of touchdowns to beat Towson (1-6, 0-4), 21-7. Defensive back Prince Smith returned an interception 16 yards for a score and defensive tackle Ryan Sosnak returned a fumble 39 yards for a TD.
