The race for the CAA Football championship remained tight after Saturday's action with six teams separated by only one game atop the league standings.
New Hampshire's (6-3, 5-1) defense forced five turnovers and handed Stony Brook (5-3, 4-1) its first conference loss, 43-14. UNH freshmen Prince Smith, Jr. and Quinlen Dean each picked off a pair of passes, while Wildcats' quarterback Trevor Knight threw for three TD's and ran for another.
Sophomore running back Elijah Ibitokun-Hanks rushed for a career-high 210 yards and a TD on 35 carries to lead UAlbany (5-3, 2-3) past Elon (2-6, 1-4), 27-3. The Great Danes also scored two touchdowns on defense as Julian Cox had a 12-yard fumble return and Rayshan Clark took a 36-yard interception to the end zone.
James Madison (7-1, 5-0) set program and conference records for points while rolling over Rhode Island (1-8, 0-6), 84-7. JMU quarterback Bryan Schor broke the Dukes' competion percentage mark, going 21-for-22 passing for a career-high 309 yards and a career-best five touchdowns.
Maine (5-3, 4-1) recorded its fifth straight victory by topping William & Mary (3-5, 1-4), 35-28, in Williamsburg. Maine quarterback Dan Collins completed 19-of-33 passes for 280 yards and 2 TD's and the Black Bears' defense forced three turnovers, including a fumble on the 20-yard line with 39 seconds to play.
Delaware's (3-5, 1-4) defense limited Towson (1-7, 0-5) to 206 total yards and forced four turnovers in a 20-6 triumph that snapped a five-game slide. UD's Thomas Jefferson ran for 141 yards and safety Ryan Torzsa intercepted two passes.
