CAA Football Rewind - Week 12

An exciting regular season in CAA Football came to an end with several dramatic finishes.

New Hampshire (7-2, 6-2) retained the Brice-Cowell Musket after getting past Maine (6-5, 5-3), 24-21. Wildcats' kicker Morgan Ellman booted the game-winning 22-yard field goal with seven seconds left. UNH running back Dalton Crossan rushed for 163 yards and a touchdown.

William & Mary (5-6, 3-5) claimed the Capital Cup for the first time since 2011 following a 34-13 triumph over No. 7 RIchmond (8-3, 5-3). Tribe senior running back Kendell Anderson rushed for 219 yards and two touchdowns on a school-record 42 carries as W&M out-scored the Spiders 28-0 in the second half.

Freshman kicker Aidan O'Neill connected on a 55-yard field goal as time expired to lift Towson (4-7, 3-5) to a 32-31 win at Rhode Island (2-9, 1-7). O'Neill tied a school record with four field goals in the game and Tigers' quarterback Morgan Mahalak threw for 353 yards and two touchdowns.

UAlbany (7-4, 4-4) took home the Golden Apple Trophy after beating Stony Brook (5-6, 4-4), 13-6. Cornerback Rayshan Clark intercepted two passes and returned a fumble for a touchdown to lead the Great Danes' defense and kicker Ethan Stark converted a career-long 50-yard field goal.

James Madison (10-1, 8-0) completed an unbeaten season in CAA Football action with a 63-14 victory over Elon (2-9, 1-7). The Dukes piled up 699 yards of total offense, with freshman quarterback Cole Johnson completing 12-of-13 passes for 274 yards and two touchdowns in his first collegiate start.

Villanova (8-3, 6-2) scored on its first four possessions and rolled past Delaware (4-7, 2-6), 41-10, in the Battle of the Blue. Wildcats' quarterback Zach Bednarczyk threw for 195 yards and four touchdowns and also ran for 78 yards.
