CAA Football Rewind - 2nd Round Playoffs

James Madison and Richmond advanced to the quarterfinals of the NCAA Division I Football Championship with impressive victories on Saturday.
JMU defeated fellow CAA Football member New Hampshire, 55-22, with a strong performance in all phases of the game. Dukes' junior quarterback Bryan Schor returned from injury to complete 30-of-37 passes for 371 yards and a school-record tying five touchdowns. Brandon Ravenel and Terrence Alls each had over 100 yards receiving and two scores. JMU's defense limited the Wildcats to 268 total yards and the Dukes also got a TD on special teams as Ravenel had an 86-yard kickoff return. For UNH, senior Dalton Crossan rushed for 92 yards and a pair of touchdowns.
Griffin Trau booted a game-winning 18-yard field goal as time expired as Richmond rallied past North Dakota, 27-24. The Spiders trailed 24-7, but quarterback Kevin Johnson had a 9-yard TD run late in the third period and then hit Garrett Hudson with an 8-yard TD pass with 5:24 to go that tied the contest at 24-24. Johnson finished 12-of-19 passing for 260 yards and 2 TD's, with Brian Brown making six receptions for 171 yards and a score.
Villanova dropped a 10-7 heartbreaker at South Dakota State as Chase Vinatieri booted a game-winning 40-yard field goal with 1:21 to play. The Wildcats held the Jackrabbits' high-powered offense to just 197 total yards behind a team-high 10 tackles from linebacker Ed Shockley. Offensively, quarterback Zach Bednarczyk was 20-of-36 passing for 220 yards, including a six-yard TD pass to Alex Padovani just before halftime. It was the final game for legendary Villanova head coach Andy Talley.

James Madison will host Sam Houston State and Richmond travels to Eastern Washington next week. The date and time of the games will be released later tonight.
