This Week In CAA Football - Playoff Quarterfinals

For the third time in the past four years, two CAA Football squads have advanced to the quarterfinals of the Division I Football Championship.

James Madison (11-1) entertains unbeaten Sam Houston State (12-0) at 7 p.m. on Friday in a game that will be televised nationally on ESPN2. The contest features the nation's two most prolific offenses, with the Bearkats averaging 53.1 points per game and the Dukes averaging 48.3 ppg. JMU is coming off a 55-22 victory over fellow CAA Football member New Hampshire last week, while Sam Houston held off Chattanooga, 41-36.

Richmond (10-3) hits the road for the second straight week with a trip to Eastern Washington (11-1) on Saturday for a 4 p.m. contest that will be televised on ESPN3. The Spiders trailed 24-7 late in the third quarter at North Dakota last Saturday before rallying for a 27-24 victory. Griffin Trau kicked a game-winning 18-yard field goal as time expired. Eastern Washington trailed 14-0 early before rolling to a 31-14 win over Central Arkansas last week.
