CAA Tennis Championship Pairings Announced

RICHMOND, Va. (April 18, 2016) – The pairings are set for the 2016 CAA Men’s and Women’s Tennis Championships, which will be held April 21-24 at the Jimmy Powell Tennis Center on the campus of the Elon University in Elon, N.C.
The women’s championship starts on Thursday morning with first-round action as #8 Hofstra faces #9 Delaware at 10 a.m. Quarterfinal play gets underway at 9 a.m. on Friday with top-seeded William & Mary meeting the Hofstra/Delaware winner and #4 College of Charleston squaring off with #5 UNCW. Those matches will be followed at 1 p.m. by #2 Elon taking on #7 Drexel and #3 James Madison battling with #6 Towson.
The winners advance to Saturday’s 2 p.m. semifinal contests and the CAA women’s championship match is set for 2 p.m. on Sunday.
The men’s championship starts on Friday morning with four quarterfinal matches at the Burlington Tennis Center in Burlington, N.C. At 9 a.m., top-seeded UNCW takes on #8 Delaware and #4 William & Mary goes against #5 Drexel. At 1 p.m., #2 College of Charleston meets #7 James Madison and #3 Elon faces #6 Hofstra.
The winners will move on to Saturday’s 10 a.m. semifinal contests. The CAA men’s championship match is set for 10 a.m. on Sunday. All three of those matches will be played at the Jimmy Powell Tennis Center on Elon’s campus.
Admission is free to all four days of the championship, with the men’s and women’s champions both earning automatic bids to the NCAA Tournament. For more information, log on the
