OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK:

Jessica Lewis 
Towson | Sr. | OH | Huntsville, Ala./Huntsville


Lewis started her senior season off with a bang, helping Towson open the year with a 4-0 start after sweeping all four opponents the team faced in straight sets at the Alabama State Tournament. She collected 51 kills (4.25 per set) while hitting a solid .541 for the weekend. Originally from Huntsville, Ala., Lewis also contributed six service aces, 25 digs, four blocks and five assists. Lewis closed out the tournament versus Alabama A&M with a match-high 16 kills and no errors in 18 attack attempts, hitting .889 with five service aces and seven digs.

DEFENSIVE PLAYERS OF THE WEEK:

Luisa Domingues 
Hofstra | So. | L/OH | Rio de Janeiro, Brazil


Domingues helped Hofstra start its season with a 3-0 record after the Pride won the Army Black Knights Invitational over the weekend. The sophomore, who was named MVP of the tournament, totaled 65 digs over the three matches (13 sets), averaging five per set. She had 23 digs against Valparaiso and CSU Bakersfield before adding 19 in the tournament finale versus Army. Domingues also had 11 assists and two service aces, while the Pride have now started the year 3-0 or better in four of the past five seasons. 

Taylor Hollingsworth 
Delaware | Sr. | DS/L | Wilmington, Del./Ursuline Academy


Hollingsworth picked up Most Valuable Player honors at the Navy Kristen Dickmann Invitational over the weekend as Delaware began the season with three victories. The Blue Hens’ senior recorded match-highs in digs during all three UD victories, including 11 versus Coppin State, 20 against New Hampshire and 19 against Navy to cap the weekend. In all, she finished with 50 digs and 5.56 digs per set, which currently leads all CAA players. Delaware swept all three foes in straight sets and out-hit the opposition, .303 to .078 percent. 

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK:

Autumn Brenner
William & Mary | Fr. | S | McLean, Va./McLean


Brenner opened her collegiate career with a solid weekend, playing in all 15 of the Tribe’s sets at the Big Orange Bash, hosted by Clemson. The freshman averaged 8.80 assists per set, totaling a CAA-high 132 assists overall. William & Mary and first-year head coach Melissa Ferris kick-started the season with a five-set win over the host Tigers, in which Brenner had 39 assists, eight digs, and three kills. In a loss versus Wofford, she had 52 assists, two aces, three kills, and two blocks and then finished the weekend with a double-double of 41 assists and 13 digs in a five-set loss to High Point.
