CAA WOMEN'S SOCCER WEEKLY REPORT - SEPTEMBER 26 (pdf)

RICHMOND, Va. (September 26, 2016) – University of Delaware senior Madison Brosler was named the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) Women’s Soccer Player of the Week while Towson’s Justine Stoner was tabbed as Rookie of the Week.

PLAYER OF THE WEEK:
Madison Brosler • University of Delaware
Senior | Forward | Millis, Mass./Millis

Senior forward Madison Brosler scored a goal in both of Delaware’s CAA wins over the weekend. The Blue Hens, rebounding a 1-8 start in non-league action, posted a pair of 2-1 league wins over Northeastern and Hofstra at home to move into sole possession of first place in the CAA. Her first goal of the season came at an opportune time on Friday night, scoring just 2:11 into overtime to lift UD to victory against Northeastern. On Sunday against Hofstra, she scored the team’s first goal of the day off a corner kick just 10:30 into the game to send Delaware on its way. Brosler entered the weekend with just two career goals but matched that this weekend.

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK:
Justine Stoner • Towson University
Freshman | Midfielder | Mount Laurel, N.J./Lenape

Towson rookie Justine Stoner tipped home the Tigers’ equalizing goal in the 2-1 road victory at William & Mary on Sunday. Stoner played a bit of three-bar, banging her shot off the underside of the crossbar before it went over the line. The marker came on one of Stoner’s two shots on the weekend as the Tigers split their results, falling in double overtime at Elon before topping regionally-ranked William & Mary, the program’s first ever win in Williamsburg.
