CAA Football Offensive Player of the Week
Kyle Lauletta, Jr., QB, Richmond (Exton, Pa./Downingtown East)
Lauletta completed 24-of-35 passes for 337 yards and three touchdowns in Richmond’s 37-20 victory at Virginia on Saturday. It was the fifth career 300-yard passing performance for Lauletta, who became the eighth quarterback in UR history to go over 4,000 career passing yards. It was the Spiders’ first victory over the Cavaliers since 1946 and snapped the ACC’s 68-game win streak against FCS opponents.
CAA Football Defensive Player of the Week
Jaheem Woods, Sr., DB, Stony Brook (Neptune, N.J./Neptune)
Woods recorded a career-high 11 tackles, a career-best five tackles for loss and a career-high three sacks in Stony Brook’s 13-9 triumph over No. 19 North Dakota last Thursday. The senior defensive back’s final sack pinned UND deep in its own territory and led to a game-winning blocked punt. Woods was part of a dominant effort by the Seawolves’ defense, which held North Dakota to just 177 total yards.
CAA Football Special Teams Player of the Week
Jake Ryder, Sr., P, Towson (Olney, Md./Sherwood)
Ryder averaged 49.4 yards on seven punts in Towson’s setback at USF on Saturday. The senior boomed a 68-yard punt that dropped inside the 5-yard line and also had boots of 61 and 50 yards in the contest. Three of his kicks were placed inside the 20-yard line.
CAA Football Rookie of the Week
Corey Parker, Fr., DB, William & Mary (Haymarket, Va./Battlefield)
In his first collegiate contest, Parker registered a game-high 15 tackles and also intercepted a pass as William & Mary fell at ACC foe NC State last Thursday. The freshman defensive back had 10 solo stops and his pickoff ended a Wolfpack drive in the second quarter.
