The CAA Football regular season comes to a close on Saturday with three teams - Elon, James Madison and Stony Brook - still in contention for a CAA title and several other squads hoping to strengthen their profile for a possible berth in the FCS playoffs. The six-game slate features rivalry games and numerous key matchups.
The excitement starts at Noon with No. 1 James Madison (10-0, 7-0) visiting No. 11 Elon (8-2, 6-1). The Dukes, who have already clinched at least a share of their third straight CAA Football title, will be trying to post a second consecutive undefeated season in conference play. The Phoenix, who have won eight of their last nine games, can earn a share of their first CAA Football title with a victory.
Also at Noon, No. 10 Stony Brook (8-2, 6-1) travels to Maine (4-5, 3-4). The Seawolves, who have won eight of their past nine contests, can clinch a share of their first CAA championship with a victory and a JMU loss to Elon.
At 1 p.m., No. 16 New Hampshire (7-3, 5-2) looks to enhance its chances for a 14th straight FCS playoff berth as it heads to UAlbany (3-7, 1-6) in the CAA Game of the Week on CollegeSportsLive.com. Delaware (7-3, 5-2) and Villanova (4-6, 3-4) face off in the 51st annual Battle of the Blue with the Blue Hens also looking to position themselves for a berth in the playoffs. That game can be seen on FOX College Sports and FOX Sports Go.
Rhode Island (3-7, 2-5) and Towson (4-6, 2-5), who are both coming off victorires last week, kickoff at 2 p.m. At 3 p.m., William & Mary (2-8, 0-7) and Richmond (5-5, 3-4) meet for the 128th time in the "Oldest Rivlary In The South." The game can be seen on NBC Sports Washington.
