RICHMOND, Va. (November 20, 2017) – CAA Football has announced its weekly award winners for Week 12 of the 2017 season. Earning honors were James Madison senior quarterback Bryan Schor, Villanova junior linebacker Jeff Steeb, James Madison freshman safety D’Angelo Amos, and Towson freshman quarterback Ryan Stover.
 
CAA Football Offensive Player of the Week
Bryan Schor, Sr., QB, James Madison (Milford, Pa./Delaware Valley)

Schor accounted for 290 yards of total offense and all of James Madison’s offensive touchdowns as the top-ranked Dukes clinched the outright conference title with a 31-3 victory at No. 11 Elon. The senior quarterback rushed for a team-high 76 yards and three TD’s on only nine carries and completed 22-of-29 passes for 214 yards. It was JMU’s 10 straight road victory and 23rd consecutive win overall.

CAA Football Defensive Player of the Week
Jeff Steeb, Jr., LB, Villanova (Sweetwater, N.J./Holy Spirit)

Steeb recorded a game-high 13 tackles (six solo), including 1.5 tackles for loss, and returned an interception 38 yards for a touchdown as Villanova knocked off rival Delaware, 28-7. The junior linebacker’s interception gave the Wildcats a quick 14-0 lead midway through the first quarter. VU’s defense turned in a dominant effort, keeping the Blue Hens off the scoreboard until the final minute of the game.
 
CAA Football Special Teams Player of the Week
D’Angelo Amos, Fr., S, James Madison (Richmond, Va./Meadowbrook)

Amos blocked a punt and returned it six yards for a touchdown in James Madison’s 31-3 victory at Elon. It was his first career blocked kick and his first touchdown, which gave the Dukes a 24-0 advantage in the third quarter. The freshman safety also contributed two tackles on special teams.
 
CAA Football Rookie of the Week
Ryan Stover, Fr., QB, Towson (Oreland, Pa./Upper Dublin)

Stover completed 18-of-31 passes for 218 yards and a career-high four touchdowns in Towson’s 29-10 triumph over Rhode Island. It was the most TD passes by a Tigers’ quarterback since 2012 as he connected for scores with four different receivers. Stover also added 36 yards rushing on only six carries.
