Pemberton averaged 19.0 points and 3.8 rebounds as Hofstra went 2-2 last week against a challenging non-conference slate. The sophomore guard scored a career-high 27 points and grabbed five rebounds as the Pride knocked off Dayton in the first round of the Charleston Classic. He followed with 23 points and seven rebounds against SEC foe Auburn and had 14 points against ACC member Clemson. For the week, he shot 54% (26-48) from the floor, including 8-of-17 from 3-point range.

Doles averaged 9.5 points and 5.0 rebounds as Drexel went 2-2 in a busy four-game week. The freshman forward contributed 11 points and seven rebounds against Mercer, 10 points and eight boards vs. Drake and nine points in a victory over Houston. For the week, he shot 66.7% (12-18) from the floor and 61.5% (8-13) from 3-point range.

IMPRESSIVE TOURNEY WINS
: Behind a career-high 27 points from Eli Pemberton, Hofstra beat Dayton 72-69 last Thursday in the first round of the Charleston Classic. Drexel defeated Houston 84-80 last Friday in the first round of the Paradise Jam as Tramaine Isabell tallied 21 points and 16 rebounds. CAA men’s basketball teams have combined to post a 20-20 record against non-conference foes through the first two weeks of the season. Two of the setbacks have been to nationally ranked teams (#1 Duke and #6 Wichita State).

FILLING UP THE STAT SHEET: In addition to the impressive numbers posted by CAA Player of the Week Eli Pemberton of Hofstra, several other players had eye-popping weeks. Drexel’s Tramaine Isabell averaged 22.5 ppg and 9.3 rpg over four games, including a career-high 32 points vs. Drake. William & Mary’s Nathan Knight averaged 22.5 ppg and 11.0 rpg, highlighted by a career-high 31 points and 14 boards in a win over Hampton. UNCW’s Devontae Cacok averaged 19.0 ppg and 17.0 rpg, including a 22-point, 17-rebound effort at Davidson, while Seahawks’ teammate Jordon Talley averaged 15.5 ppg and 13.0 apg, including 19 points and 14 assists in a victory over Campbell. CofC’s Joe Chealey averaged 21.5 ppg, which included a game-high 29 points in a road win at Charlotte. Elon’s Dainan Swoope averaged 21.0 ppg over four games, including a career-high 26 points in a double-overtime triumph over FIU. Towson’s Brian Starr scored a career-best 21 points on perfect 7-for-7 FG shooting in a road win at rival Loyola. Delaware’s Eric Carter averaged 14.0 ppg and 10.0 rpg for the week, including 18 points and 12 boards at Bradley.

Charleston

•    Fell 81-63 at #6 Wichita State, before posting an 81-72 victory at Charlotte last week.

•    Grant Riller led CofC in scoring for the second straight game with 20 points at WSU, including 18 in the second half. He added 17 points in the win at Charlotte.

•    Joe Chealey averaged 21.5 ppg for the week, highlighted by a game-high 29 points at Charlotte. The CAA Preseason Player of the Year was 5-of-7 from 3-point range against the 49ers.

•    Nick Harris grabbed a team-high six rebounds and blocked three shots at WSU.

•    Cameron Johnson poured in a season-high 18 points on 7-of-11 FG shooting at Charlotte. He also grabbed seven rebounds.

•    Jarrell Brantley, who was named to the preseason All-CAA first team, is out for 4-6 weeks with a knee injury. Jaylen McManus is taking his place as the Cougars’ starting forward.

Delaware

•    Suffered a 61-53 setback at Bradley, but cruised past Wesley, 93-78, in their home opener last week.

•    Eric Carter recorded his second straight double-double at BU with team-highs of 18 points and 12 rebounds. He’s averaging 13.3 ppg and 10.7 rpg through three games while shooting 75% from the floor.

•    All-CAA guard Ryan Daly was held to 3 points at BU on 1-of-11 FG shooting, but bounced back to tally team-highs of 23 points and 9 rebounds vs. Wesley.

•    Anthony Mosley contributed 13 points, five rebounds, two assists and two steals at BU, and followed with 11 points, six rebounds, four assists and two steals vs. Wesley.

•    Freshman Kevin Anderson poured in 15 points and grabbed 8 rebounds at Bradley.

•    Delaware had six players score in double figures vs. Wesley, which was the first time since 1996 that the Hens had achieved that feat.

Drexel

•    Went 2-2 last week. Placed fourth in the Paradise Jam, which included an 84-80 victory over Houston.

•    Tramaine Isabell, a transfer from Missouri, averaged 22.5 ppg and 9.3 rpg last week. He had 21 points and 16 rebounds in the Houston win and scored a career-best 32 points in a double OT loss to Drake. He was named to the Paradise Jam all-tournament team.

•    Kurk Lee tallied 21 points and 5 assists vs. Drake and 16 points against Houston. He’s scored double figures in four of five games.

•    Austin Williams grabbed a team-best 14 rebounds vs. Drake. He’s averaging 7.8 rpg and has two games with 10+ boards. Williams is shooting 70% from the floor.

•    Freshman Jarvis Doles averaged 9.5 ppg and 5.0 rpg for the week, including 11 points and 7 rebounds against Mercer. He was 12-of-18 from the floor in the four games.

•    Guard Troy Harper is leading the CAA in free throw percentage, having made 30-of-32 from the charity stripe.

Elon

•    Went 2-2 last week, falling 76-67 at Furman before going 2-1 at the Black & Gold Shootout in Milwaukee.

•    Dainan Swoope reached the 20-point mark in all three games in Milwaukee, including a career-high tying 26 points in a win over FIU and 25 points in a win over Concordia-St. Paul. He made the all-tournament team.

•    Brian Dawkins also received all-tournament honors. He posted his 2nd double-double (17 pts/10 reb) vs. FIU and averaged 14.0 ppg over the three games.

•    Sheldon Eberhardt is averaging 7.0 points, 5.2 rebounds and 2.8 assists off the bench while shooting 51.6% from the floor.

•    Dmitri Thompson is 10-of-20 from 3-point range this season. He leads the team lead in rebounds (6.8 rpg) and ranks fourth in scoring (10.2 ppg).

•    Elon is averaging a CAA-best 11.7 three-pointers made per game and is shooting 37.4% from beyond the arc.

Hofstra

•    Defeated Dayton, 72-69, in the first round of the Charleston Classic, before falling to Clemson and Auburn to finish in 4th place.

•    Eli Pemberton scored a career-high 27 points with 5 rebounds in the Dayton win and had a team-high 23 points and seven boards vs. Auburn. He’s averaging 19.0 ppg and shooting 54.2% for the season.

•    Justin Wright-Foreman tallied 19 points vs. Dayton, a team-best 20 points vs. Clemson and 16 points against Auburn, which was his 27th straight game in double digits. He’s averaging a team-best 19.2 ppg.

•    Rokas Gustys has grabbed 10+ rebounds in 4 of his 5 games and ranks 2nd in the CAA with 10.8 rpg. He’s 2nd among all active Div. I players with 987 career rebounds and ranks 10th all-time in the CAA.

•    Point guard Desure Buie has dished out a team-high 18 assists with only 8 turnovers this season.

•    Stafford Truehart scored 10 points against Auburn, which were his first points at HU.

James Madison

•    Dropped four games last week, losing 69-53 to Old Dominion before going 0-3 at the Islands of the Bahamas Showcase.

•    Stuckey Mosley scored a team-high 14 points vs. ODU and a team-best 20 points vs. Northern Kentucky. He leads the Dukes with 16.3 ppg for the season and is 11-of-26 (42.3%) from 3-point range.

•    Guard Joey McLean netted a career-high 21 points vs. Weber State and is averaging 14.4 ppg for the season. He also leads the Dukes with 14 assists.

•    Freshman guard Darius Banks led JMU with a career-best 15 points against UTSA. He was 7-of-13 from the floor.

•    JMU ranks third in the CAA in rebound margin, beating opponents by 6.0 rpg.

•    The Dukes have made at least seven steals in all five games this season and lead the CAA with 8.4 spg. Freshman Darrius Banks leads the team with eight thefts.

UNCW

•    Dropped a 108-81 decision at Davidson, but rebounded for an 88-84 win over Campbell.

•    Devontae Cacok has posted double-doubles in all 3 games this season, including team-highs of 22 points and 17 rebounds at Davidson and 16 points and 17 boards vs. Campbell. He’s averaging 19.7 ppg and a CAA-best 16.7 rpg for the season.

•    Jordon Talley posted double-doubles vs. Davidson (13 pts/12 ast) and Campbell (18 pts/14 ast). He’s averaging 18.3 ppg and a CAA-best 10.3 apg while shooting 61.3% from the floor and 8-of-15 from 3.

•    Jaylen Fornes chipped in 11 points at Davidson and scored a team-high 18 points with 4 steals vs. CU. He’s tallied double digits in all 3 games and is averaging 13.3 ppg.

•    Guard Ty Taylor, a transfer from Wichita St., contributed 16 points at Davidson and followed with 17 points and 9 boards vs. CU.

•    UNCW is leading the CAA in scoring (91.3 ppg) and 3-point FG percentage (43.1%).

Northeastern

•    Suffered road losses at Stanford (73-59) and Ohio State (80-55) last week as part of the PK80 Invitational.

•    Guard Donnell Gresham was NU’s top scorer in both games, tallying 15 points at Stanford and 16 against Ohio State. He was 8-of-14 from 3-point range over the two games and is shooting 50% from three for the year.

•    Bolden Brace contributed 13 points and a team-high 8 rebounds vs. Stanford in a return to his home state of California.

•    Forward Anthony Green averaged 6.0 ppgg and 7.5 rpg over the two games, including 8 points and a team-high 9 rebounds at OSU. He was 6-of-9 from the floor for the week and is shooting 66.7% for the season.

•    NU ranks second in the CAA in both scoring defense (65.2 ppg) and 3-point FG% defense (30.6%).

•    The Huskies head to Nashville this week as part of the PK80 Invitational and will meet Utah State and Furman.

Towson

•    Rolled past in-state foes Frostburg State (89-45) and Loyola (95-72) last week.

•    Brian Starr was a perfect 7-for-7 from the floor, including 3-of-3 from three, and scored a career-high 21 points at Loyola. He added 6 assists and 4 rebounds.

•    Deshaun Morman scored a career-high 19 points on 8-of-10 FG shooting vs. FSU and followed with 12 points and a team-high 7 rebounds at Loyola.

•    Zane Martin scored 19 points at Loyola. He’s tallied double digits in all three games and is averaging a team-high 17.0 ppg.

•    Towson, which ranked 7th nationally in rebound margin (+7.9 rpg) last year, dominated FSU 53-33 on the glass. The Tigers are +14.7 in rebound margin and have outrebounded 51 of their last 55 opponents.

•    Justin Gorham just missed a double-double (10 pts/9 reb) vs. FSU  and had 13 points and six boards at Loyola.

•    TU is holding foes to 16.7% shooting from 3.

William & Mary

•    Beat Hampton 83-76 in their home opener but fell 75-64 at UCF last week.

•    Nathan Knight recorded career-highs of 31 points and 14 rebounds in the win over HU. It was the first 30-point, 10-rebound effort by a W&M player since 2008. He added 14 points and 8 rebounds at UCF.

•    Knight set Kaplan Arena records by going 18-of-22 at the free throw line. He’s shooting 81.6% from the FT line for the year.

•    Justin Pierce posted his first career double-double (19 pts/10 reb) at UCF and had 13 points and 9 boards vs. HU. He’s averaging 16.7 ppg and 8.7 rpg while shooting 54.1% from the floor for the year.

•    Matt Milon hit three treys and scored 15 points vs. HU and made four treys and netted 14 points at UCF. He’s averaging 12.3 ppg for the season.

•     W&M was 28-of-34 (82.4%) at the FT line against Hampton and is shooting 79.4% from the stripe for the season.
