RICHMOND, Va. (November 6, 2017) – CAA Football has announced its weekly award winners for Week 10 of the 2017 season. Earning honors were New Hampshire junior quarterback Trevor Knight, Delaware junior linebacker Troy Reeder, Elon freshman kicker Owen Johnson, and Elon freshman running back Brelynd Cyphers.
 
CAA Football Offensive Player of the Week
Trevor Knight, Jr., QB, New Hampshire (Amherst, N.H./Nashua South)

Knight completed 25-of-35 passes for 406 yards and a career-high tying four touchdowns in New Hampshire’s 35-16 victory at William & Mary. It was the second career 400-yard effort for Knight, who threw his TD’s to four different receivers and moved into 10th place on UNH’s career passing list. The Wildcats finished with 511 yards of total offense and won at Zable Stadium for the first time since 1998.

Troy Reeder, Jr., LB, Delaware (Hockessin, Del./Salesianum)

Reeder recorded a career-high 17 tackles, one tackle for loss and a blocked punt in Delaware’s 31-17 win at Maine. The junior linebacker, who has made at least nine tackles in six of his past seven games, led a Blue Hens’ defense that didn’t allow a point over the final 24 minutes. Reeder’s blocked punt was the second of his career and came after Maine had driven into UD territory in the second half.
 
CAA Football Special Teams Player of the Week
Owen Johnson, Fr., PK, Elon (Louisville, Ky./St. Xavier)

Johnson made a career-best four field goals, including two in overtime, as Elon edged Towson, 33-30 in 2 ot. The freshman connected on field goals of 32, 19 and 28 yards before booting a 26-yarder in the second overtime for his third game-winning kick of the season. Johnson leads the CAA with 14 field goals for the season.
 
CAA Football Rookie of the Week
Brelynd Cyphers, Fr., RB, Elon (Virginia Beach, Va./Green Run)

Cyphers rushed for a career-high 129 yards and a touchdown on only 14 carries in Elon’s 33-30 double-overtime victory over Towson. The freshman averaged 9.2 yards per carry and his 5-yard scoring run gave Elon a 21-10 advantage in the third quarter. Cyphers and teammate DeSean McNair gave Elon a pair of 100-yard backs in the same game for the first time since 2009.
