This Week In CAA Football - Playoff Semifinals

Top-seeded James Madison hosts No. 5 South Dakota State in the semifinals of the NCAA FCS playoffs at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday. The game will be televised nationally on ESPNU. This is the fifth year in a row that at least one CAA Football team has competed in the FCS semifinals. The league has had a team advance to the national championship game nine times in the last 14 years.
The defending national champion Dukes (13-0) are coming off a thrilling 31-28 victory over Weber State last Friday. Trailing 28-20 late in the fourth quarter, JMU got a 40-yard TD pass from Bryan Schor to Riley Stapleton, a two-point conversion from Trai Sharp and a game-winning 46-yard field goal from Ethan Ratke as time expired to extend their winning streak to 25 games.
The Jackrabbits (11-2) defeated CAA Football member New Hampshire, 56-14, last Saturday to advance to the semifinals. Quarterback Taryn Christion threw for 190 yards and 2 TD's, with wide receiver Jake Wieneke making nine catches for 140 yards and a pair of scores. SDSU, which is on a seven-game winning streak, limited UNH to 348 total yards and forced two turnovers.
