CAA MEN'S LACROSSE WEEKLY REPORT  (pdf)

RICHMOND, Va. (February 14, 2017) – The University of Delaware swept the first Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) Men’s Lacrosse Weekly Awards of the Week. Sophomore Andrew Romagnoli was named the CAA Player of the Week while Charlie Kitchen earned CAA Rookie of the Week honors.

Sophomore Andrew Romagnoli has led the Blue Hens in the first two games of the season, collecting eight goals and three assists. In the season opener against Bucknell, he scored four goals and dished out an assist for five points. He followed with another four-goal performance, along with two assists, in a six-point effort in the 18-5 win over Mount St. Mary's on February 11. Romagnoli has recorded seven career multiple-goal games in 16 career games.

Rookie attackman Charlie Kitchen has gotten off to one of the best starts ever by a freshman in UD history, collecting seven goals and four assists.
He potted four goals and two assists for six points in his collegiate debut, a 14-13 loss to Bucknell. He came back with another huge effort in the 18-5 win over Mount St. Mary's on February 11, as he netted three goals and two assists. Kitchen became the first UD player to score four goals in his collegiate debut and the first player in head coach Bob Shillinglaw's 39-year tenure at Delaware to open his career with consecutive hat tricks.
