Amber Porter were named the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) Women’s Basketball Players of the Week while Drexel’s
Bailey Greenberg earned CAA Rookie of the Week honors for the third time.
PLAYER OF THE WEEK:

Senior guard Meghan Creighton helped Drexel to a 2-0 week and set some personal records in the process. In the Dragons win over UNCW, the point guard set a program record and tied a CAA record with 10 three-pointers (10-for-14). The 10 threes tied the most by a single player in NCAA Division I women's basketball this season. Her 30 points established a new career high and helped her reach the 1,000 career point milestone. She also became just the fourth player in CAA history to reach 1,000 points, 500 assists and 400 rebounds. She opened the week with 10 points against William & Mary to go along with a season-high three steals. For the week, Creighton averaged 20.0 points on 59.1 percent shooting (13-for-22) and 61.9 percent from long range (13-for-21).

Junior Amber Porter had an efficient week for the Dukes, averaging 16.0 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 2.0 blocks while shooting 60 percent from the field, to help them to a pair of wins. In the battle for first place against Elon, Porter needed just 19 minutes on the floor to go 7-of-11 from the field and 6-of-7 from the charity stripe en route to her best scoring night since arriving at JMU. She finished with a game-high 20pts, adding three rebounds and a pair of blocks. She began the week with 12 points and seven rebounds in the Dukes’ win over Delaware.
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK:
Bailey Greenberg • Drexel University

Rookie forward Bailey Greenberg averaged 9.5 points and 5.0 rebounds per game in two victories for the Dragons over the weekend. She was 9-for-11 (.818) from the floor for the week. In the win over UNCW, Greenberg finished with 11 points, going 5-for-6 from the field, six rebounds and added three assists. In the win over William & Mary, she chipped in eight points on 4-of-5 shooting with four boards in that contest. Greenberg has now started all 24 games for Drexel and is currently fourth on the team (behind three seniors) in scoring at 8.2 points per game average and is second on the team at 4.5 boards per contest.
#CAAHoops – The Week that Was
There were many milestones and key victories last weekend which resulted in a tie atop the
#CAAHoops Standings.
Charleston (8-16; 5-8 CAA): The Cougars had a pair of road losses, falling at Hofstra and at Northeastern. Senior
Breanna Bolden averaged 16.5 points, 11.0 rebounds and 5.0 assists per game while
Shiclasia Brown averaged 15.5 points per game.
Delaware (14-10; 8-5 CAA): The Blue Hens split games last week, falling at James Madison before topping Hofstra. After missing Friday night with the flu,
Nicole Enabosi returned to the lineup to deliver 21 points and 11 rebounds in the victory over Hofstra.
Drexel (18-6; 9-4 CAA): The Dragons went 2-0 with home victories against William & Mary and UNCW.
Meghan Creighton had a big week, averaging 20.0 points, including a 30-point effort against UNCW in which she tied a CAA single game record for three-pointers (10) and posted her 1,000th career point.
Sarah Curran (13.0) and
Jessica Pellechio (12.0) also averaged double figures for the week.
Elon (19-6; 11-2 CAA): The Phoenix split gamest last week, downing Northeastern before being edged by James Madison on the road. The Phoenix is now tied with the Duke for first place in the standings.
Malaya Johnson scored in double figures in both games for the Phoenix, averaging 13.5 points and 5.5 rebounds while shooting 55 percent from the field.
Hofstra (10-14; 3-10 CAA): The Pride went 1-2 last week, picking up an exciting win over College of Charleston and falling to William & Mary and Delaware. Junior
Ashunae Durant averaged 20.3 points and 10.0 rebounds per game with double-doubles against Charleston and Delaware. Rookie
Marianne Kalin had a solid week, including a 16-points night against William & Mary.
James Madison (18-6; 11-2 CAA): The Dukes went 2-0 with victories over Delaware and Elon, which moved them into a tie for first place in the standings. Amber Porter averaged 16.0 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 2.0 blocks while
Precious Hall averaged 16.5 points per game and extended her double-digit scoring streak to 24 games.
UNCW (10-14; 4-9 CAA): The Seahawks went 1-1, topping Towson before falling at Drexel.
Madison Raque averaged 10.0 points per game while
Jasmine Steele averaged 9.0 points and 4.0 assists per game.
Northeastern (8-17; 4-9 CAA): The Huskies, plagued by travel woes, split games, falling at Elon before returning home to defeat College of Charleston.
Claudia Ortiz had another solid week, averaging 14.0 points, including a 23-point effort in the win over CofC.
Francesca Sally averaged 10.0 points and 9.5 rebounds, including a 13-point, 15-rebound effort in the win over the Cougars.
Towson (11-13; 4-9 CAA): The Tigers dropped a pair of games to UNCW and William & Mary. Senior
Raven Bankston averaged 11.5 points for the week while
Sianni Martin contributed 11.0 points and 5.5 rebounds per game.
William & Mary (16-7; 6-7 CAA): The Tribe went 2-1 on the week, picking up wins over Hofstra and Towson but falling to William & Mary. Senior
Marlena Tremba led the way by averaging 13.0 points and 3.0 assists per game.
