2016 CAA FOOTBALL ACADEMIC ALL-CONFERENCE TEAM

RICHMOND, Va. (March 23, 2017) – Showing the conference’s commitment to excellence in the classroom as well as on the field, CAA Football announced a group of 388 student-athletes who were honored on the conference’s 2016 Academic All-Conference team.

To be eligible for Academic All-Conference honors, student-athletes must hold a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
Stony Brook topped all schools with 51 players on the list. UAlbany and Villanova each had 42 players honored and Elon had 41. All 12 CAA Football schools had at least 19 players receive Academic All-Conference accolades.

Among those recognized on the Academic All-Conference squad were James Madison junior quarterback Bryan Schor, the CAA Offensive Player of the Year, and Villanova senior defensive lineman Tanoh Kpassagnon, the CAA Defensive Player of the Year. There were 24 players who made both the all-conference team and the academic all-conference squad.

CAA Football will announce the 2016 Student-Athlete of the Year next week.
