RICHMOND, Va. (March 7, 2017) – Hofstra University’s
Jack Concannon and University of Delaware’s
Andrew Romagnoli were named the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) Men’s Lacrosse Players of the Week while the Pride’s
Ryan Tierney was named the CAA Rookie of the Week for the second time this season.

Sophomore Andrew Romagnoli led Delaware to a pair of victories with eight goals and two assists for 10 points this week. He opened the week with four goals and an assist in the 15-9 win over VMI on Tuesday. He then led UD to its third straight victory and its fourth straight road win with a 13-10 triumph at Villanova. He posted a team-high four goals and also dished out an assist as part of a five-point day. He scored twice in the first half to give UD an early lead and helped keep Villanova at bay with a pair of fourth quarter goals. Romagnoli has now scored a hat trick in five of the six games this season and has four goals in four of the games. He leads Delaware with 19 goals and 26 points on the season.

In two Hofstra victories (105 minutes) last week, Jack Concannon recorded a 6.29 goals against average with 23 saves and a .676 save percentage as the Pride improved to 4-0 on the year. In Saturday's win at Georgetown, Concannon made a career-high 17 saves as the Pride recorded an 11-9 victory. On Tuesday, he played three quarters and allowed just two goals while making six saves in Hofstra’s 20-4 win over NJIT at Shuart Stadium. He now has a 7.47 GAA with 44 saves and a .611 save percentage on the season.
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK:
Ryan Tierney • No. RV/RV Hofstra University
Freshman | Attack | Massapequa, N.Y./Massapequa
Rookie Ryan Tierney recorded seven goals and three assists in two Hofstra victories last week. On Saturday at Georgetown, he tallied a season-high four goals and added one assist to equal his 2017-best of five points in the Pride's 11-9 victory. He took eight shots and picked up two ground balls against the Hoyas. Against NJIT on February 28, he tallied three goals and two assists to help lead the Pride over the Highlanders, 20-4. He now has 11 goals and six assists in four games this season.
