RICHMOND, Va. (April 10, 2017) – No. 2/2 Hofstra University’s
Josh Byrne was named the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) Men’s Lacrosse Player of the Week for the second time this season while Drexel University’s
Reid Bowering picked up CAA Rookie of the Week honors.

Senior Josh Byrne tallied four goals and one assist to lead the Pride to an 11-9 victory at Delaware and help them become the only program in NCAA DI with an unblemished record this season. It was the sixth time this season in which Byrne as recorded three goals or more. Byrne took eight shots with seven on-goal and picked up three ground balls against the Blue Hens He scored goals in the first and second quarters and two in the fourth quarter to stymie UD's late rally. He now has 29 goals and 21 assists for 50 points.

Freshman Reid Bowering tied a career-high with four goals, including the game-winner, in Drexel’s 13-12 victory against Fairfield. Bowering also added an assist for his second five-point game of the year. Bowering put the Dragons up 6-5 in the second quarter and capped off a four-goal run for Drexel with his third goal of the day in the third quarter. But Bowering’s goal with 7:52 remaining would prove to be the game-winner.
