RICHMOND, Va. (September 25, 2017) – CAA Football has announced its weekly award winners for Week 4 of the 2017 season. Earning honors were Elon junior running back Malcolm Summers, New Hampshire junior quarterback Trevor Knight, UAlbany sophomore linebacker Eli Mencer, Stony Brook junior kicker Alex Lucansky and James Madison freshman wide receiver Ezrah Archie.
 
CAA Football Offensive Players of the Week
Malcolm Summers, Jr., RB, Elon (Mebane, N.C/Eastern Alamance)

Summers rushed for a career-high 294 yards on a career-best 40 carries as Elon picked up a 36-33 win at No. 6 Richmond. The rushing total was the 10th-highest in CAA Football history and the most by any player in FCS this season. Summers became the first Elon back since 2002 to top 200 yards and the first to exceed the 100-yard mark in back-to-back games since 2009.

Knight completed 23-of-34 passes for a career-high 420 yards and three touchdowns and also rushed for 19 yards and another TD in New Hampshire’s 28-14 win over Rhode Island. The junior quarterback matched his career-high for TD passes with fourth-quarter strikes of 76 and 24 yards after the Rams had pulled within one.
 
CAA Football Defensive Player of the Week
Eli  Mencer, So., LB, UAlbany (Altoona, Pa./Altoona)

Mencer recorded seven tackles, 1.5 tackles for loss and sealed UAlbany’s 19-10 triumph over No. 8 Villanova by forcing a fumble and returning it 80 yards for a TD in overtime. The sophomore linebacker was part of a Great Danes’ defense that held Villanova to just 254 total yards. It was UAlbany’s first win ever over a Top 10-ranked opponent.
 
CAA Football Special Teams Player of the Week
Alex Lucansky, Jr., PK, Stony Brook (Orange Park, Fla./The Bolles School)

Lucansky kicked a career-best four field goals, including two in the fourth quarter, in Stony Brook’s 25-17 victory over Towson. The junior connected on kicks of 21, 42, 26 and 23 yards and is now 6-for-6 on field goals for the season.
 
CAA Football Rookie of the Week
Ezrah Archie, Fr., WR, James Madison (Sicklerville, N.J./Timber Creek Regional)

In his first career start, Archie made a team-high eight receptions for 90 yards and a touchdown in James Madison’s 28-10 win over Maine. The freshman wide receiver, who had made just three catches all season, had a long reception of 31 yards and snared a 3-yard TD pass in the fourth quarter to help clinch the victory.
