CAA WOMEN'S BASKETBALL WEEKLY REPORT - JANUARY 29

RICHMOND, Va. (January 29, 2018) – College of William & Mary junior guard Bianca Boggs was named the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) Women’s Basketball Player of the Week while Drexel University guard Hannah Nihill picked up CAA Rookie of the Week honors for the third time this season.

Guard Bianca Boggs led the Tribe to back-to-back victories with a stellar week averaging 25.0 points, 7.5 rebounds, 5.0 steals, 4.5 assists and 3.0 blocks per game. The junior finished the week shooting 21-of-39 (.538) from the floor and 7-of-17 (.410) from three-point range. On Friday night, Boggs sparked the Tribe's second-half comeback with 26 points, seven rebounds, six assists, two blocks and seven steals, playing all 40 minutes. She again led the Tribe with 24 points in its win versus Hofstra scoring 24 points, eight rebounds, three assists, four blocks, and three steals. Boggs is the Tribe's leading scorer, averaging 17.1 points per game, 4.8 rebounds, and 2.9 assists per game. She has led the Tribe in scoring in 12 games and has been in double-figures in each of W&M's last 11 contests.

Rookie Hannah Nihill averaged 7.0 points, 3.5 rebounds and 3.0 assists per game to help Drexel to 2-0 weekend against Elon and Northeastern. The guard scored eight in the win over Elon, including the go-ahead three-pointer with 3:19 remaining in the fourth quarter after the Dragons had trailed by 10 with under seven minutes to play. She also dished out three assists against the Phoenix. Nihill had six points, three assists and matched a season high with six rebounds in the win over Northeastern that extended Drexel’s winning streak to six games.
 

#CAAHoops – The Week that Was
 
Charleston (5-16; 1-9): The Cougars had a pair of road losses at William & Mary and James Madison. Tanisha Brown averaged a double-double with 10.5 points and 10.5 rebounds while Deja Ford averaged 11.0 points per game and pushed her double-digit scoring streak to five games.
 
Delaware (13-7; 6-3): The Blue Hens split games at home, falling to Northeastern before topping UNCW. Junior Nicole Enabosi averaged a double-double with 18.5 points and 14.0 rebounds to go along with 3.0 steals and 1.5 blocks per game. Enabosi has 15 double-doubles in 20 games this season to lead all CAA players. Freshman Justina Mascaro averaged 6.5 points and 4.5 rebounds.
 
Drexel (16-5; 8-1): The Dragons pushed their winning streak to six games with a pair of home wins against Elon and Northeastern. Senior Kelsi Lidge averaged 14.0 points and 6.5 rebounds last week, including 17 points and eight rebounds in the win over Elon. Rookie Hannah Nihill averaged 7.0 points, 3.5 rebounds and 3.0 assists per game.
 
Elon (13-7; 5-4): The Phoenix split road games, falling at Drexel by a basket before topping Towson. Senior Shay Burnett averaged 17.0 points, 7.0 rebounds and 6.5 assists for the week while shooting 50 percent (12-for-24) from the field.
 
Hofstra (10-11; 4-6): The short-handed Pride dropped a pair of hard-fought road games to James Madison and William & Mary. Boogie Brozoski averaged 13.0 points and 6.0 assists while Mikiyah Croskey averaged 13.0 points and 5.5 rebounds. Croskey had a career night against JMU with 18 points and six rebounds.
 
James Madison (13-7; 9-0): The Dukes remained undefeated in CAA play with a pair of home wins against Hofstra and Charleston. Center Kayla Cooper-Williams averaged a double-double for the week with 10.0 points and 10.5 rebounds per game to go along with six total blocks. Cooper-Williams went 6-for-7 from the field (.857) and 8-for-10 (.800) from the free throw line.
 
UNCW (7-13; 0-9): The Seahawks dropped their only game of the week at Delaware, 80-62. Senior guard Madison Raque paced the Seahawks with a game-high 21 points, making 9-of-17 shots from the floor, while contributing four assists. Senior center Rebekah Banks added her second double-double (11pts, 12reb).
 
Northeastern (10-10; 5-4): The Huskies split road games, topping Delaware before falling at Drexel. Junior Jess Genco turned in another impressive week, averaging 15.5 points, with seven three-pointers, 5.5 assists and 39.5 minutes per game. Rookie Stella Clark came off the bench to average 4.0 points per game.
 
Towson (8-12; 3-6) The Tigers dropped their only game of the week, a 71-45 decision to Elon. Senior Raine Bankston paced Towson with 16 points while Nukiya Mayo had a game-high 10 rebounds.
 
William & Mary (14-6; 5-4): The Tribe posted a pair of home wins against Charleston and Hofstra. Guard Bianca Boggs had a stellar week averaging 25.0 points, 7.5 rebounds, 5.0 steals, 4.5 assists and 3.0 blocks per game.
