Cargill received his second straight CAA men’s tennis Player of the Week honor after earning a key victory at No. 1 singles in William & Mary’s 4-3 upset of 25th-ranked South Carolina. The junior knocked off No. 108 Gabriel Friedrich, 7-6, 6-4, who is a two-time participant in the NCAA Singles Championship and was ranked as high as No. 28 earlier this season. It was the fifth career victory over a nationally ranked opponent for Cargill, who has 11 singles wins this season. It was the Tribe’s highest-ranked team triumph since 2007.

Arce and Kohler were honored as the CAA men’s Doubles Team of the Week after providing the clinching doubles point in JMU’s conference road victories over Delaware (6-1) and Hofstra (7-0). Playing at the No. 2 position, the Dukes’ duo defeated Delaware’s Justice Jones and Curran Verma, 6-2, and then beat Hofstra’s Marcus Smith and Jan Leithner, 6-1. Arce and Kohler both posted 2-0 marks in singles action as well.

Cheng was named the CAA women’s tennis Player of the Week after clinching William & Mary’s 4-3 win over Big Ten foe Maryland with a come-from-behind, three-set victory at No. 1 singles. After dropping the first set, 7-5, to Maryland’s Ekaterina Tour, Cheng took the second and third sets by convincing 6-1 scores to improve to 10-7 on the season and 3-2 at No. 1. With the victory, Cheng moved into the ITA singles rankings at No. 68.
