CAA MEN'S LACROSSE WEEKLY REPORT - MARCH 12

RICHMOND, Va. (March 12, 2018) – Hofstra University goalie Jack Concannon picked up Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) Men’s Lacrosse Player of the Week honors while Towson goalie Shane Brennan was named the CAA Rookie of the Week. Both student-athletes backstopped their teams in upsets of the No. 8 and No. 13 teams in the country.

Senior Jack Concannon helped lead the Hofstra Pride to a big 12-6 upset of previously eighth-ranked North Carolina at James M. Shuart Stadium last Saturday. Concannon recorded nine saves, many spectacular and at point-blank range, in the Pride's first top 10 win since defeating UNC in Chapel Hill last season. Concannon posted two saves in the first and third quarters, four stops in the fourth to stave off any rally attempt and one in the second. He now has a 5.78 goals against average in four game this season.

Towson redshirt freshman Shane Brennan had a career outing on Saturday evening as he made a career-best 16 saves against No. 13 Ohio State in the Tigers’ 7-6 overtime victory. Brennan made several saves in close while also snapping up seven ground balls. Brennan made 10 of his saves across the second and third quarter as the Tigers collected their second-straight win, while also knocking off Ohio State for a second trip to Ohio Stadium. Brennan allowed a career-low six goals in his 64 minutes of action. He finished the contest with a 72.7 save percentage.
