Kristin Hallam was named CAA Softball Player of the Week, James Madison freshman
Payton Buresch earned her fourth weekly honor of 2018, and first as the Pitcher of the Week, and Drexel freshman
Megan Trivelpiece picked up Rookie of the Week honors to headline the Week 6 conference awards on Monday.
PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Kristin Hallam • Hofstra

Hallam posted a solid weekend at the plate in the leadoff position, going 8-for-11 (.727) with two doubles, one home run, four runs and four RBI as the Pride went 4-0 to move to 14-7 overall. The sophomore started the weekend with an RBI double and one walk in a win over Boston University and then followed with a 3-for-3 effort and a 4-for-4 effort in victories over UMass an St. John’s. She provided a double and a homer in the win over SJU and capped the weekend with another RBI and one walk in the Pride’s 9-1 win over Binghamton.
PITCHER OF THE WEEK: Payton Buresch • James Madison

Buresch added to her impressive start to the year, earning her fourth weekly CAA honor of 2018 after previously winning Rookie of the Week three times. The freshman righty started JMU’s home slate with a bang on Friday, tossing her first career no-hitter (the ninth in JMU history on a historic day as it was the anniversary of the program’s first ever no-hitter in 2005). Buresch pitched a complete five inning game (run-rule victory), facing 18 batters and walking three to go with five strikeouts in a 13-0 win over Stony Brook. She pitched two more times over the weekend (10.1 frames) and allowed just one earned run and struck out five, giving her a 0.59 ERA. She was tagged with a loss versus Ohio on Saturday and came in relief versus ECU in Sunday’s 4-2 defeat.
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK: Megan Trivelpiece • Drexel

Trivelpiece became Drexel’s first weekly honoree of the season after helping her squad earn a 2-2 showing at UMBC’s Dawg Pound Invitational last weekend. She batted .583 (7-for-12) with four RBI and her first career home run, while adding four runs over four games played. In eight contests this spring (seven starts), the freshman owns a .409 average.
