RICHMOND, Va. (August 20, 2018) – Elon University junior Taylor Paradoski was named the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) Women’s Soccer Player of the Week while Northeastern University’s Eve Goulet earned Defensive Player of the Week and UNCW’s Talia Parrous garnered CAA Rookie of the Week accolades.

In Elon’s season-opening match at Liberty, Paradoski notched her first career hat trick in the Phoenix’s 5-4 victory. Paradoski’s third goal of the match was the game-winner, coming in the 97th minute as Elon overcame a 4-2 deficit in the second half. The three goals already match Paradoski’s best season total from 2016. The effort helped Elon open the season 1-0-1, including a home draw versus UNCG.

Goulet anchored a Northeastern back line that allowed just one goal a 1-1 weekend in matches against UConn and Boston College. Playing all 90 minutes against UConn, Goulet helped the Huskies earn a 2-0 shutout, holding UConn to just four shots on goal. On Sunday, Goulet’s sliding tackle in the waning seconds of the first half denied a goal-scoring opportunity for Boston College.

In her first two collegiate matches, Parrous made an instant impact, helping UNCW open the season with victories at VCU and versus High Point. Parrous notched an assist on the eventual game-winning goal in the Seahawks’ 3-1 win at VCU before helping the UNCW defense limit High Point to just two shots on goal in a 2-0 victory.
