CAA Field Hockey Weekly Awards – Oct. 17

RICHMOND, Va. (Oct. 17, 2022) – The Colonial Athletic Association has announced its weekly field hockey awards following the eighth week of the 2022 season. Monmouth graduate forward Annick van Lange and Northeastern freshman forward Emmy Stubbs received the respective honors of CAA Player and CAA Rookie of the Week after accumulating nine points over the weekend.
PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Annick van Lange, Monmouth

van Lange recorded nine points on four goals and one assist in a 2-0 week for Monmouth as the Hawks moved into a tie for first place atop the CAA standings. On Sunday, the graduate forward tallied her second hat trick this fall with three goals and recorded an assist on the game-winning goal as Monmouth edged out Northeastern 4-3. The performance came after she opened the scoring against Hofstra, breaking 34 minutes of scoreless action before the Hawks went on to win 2-0. van Lange leads the CAA with 36 points and 16 goals this season. She has scored at least one goal in seven of her past eight games, and van Lange has a league-best five multi-goal games this fall.
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Emmy Stubbs, Northeastern
Freshman | Forward | Houston, Texas / The Kinkaid School
Stubbs led Northeastern with nine points on four goals and one assist in a pair of conference contests over the weekend. The freshman forward recorded a season-best five points on two goals and one assist in a 5-1 win over No. 25 William & Mary, marking her first collegiate multi-goal performance. She carried the momentum into Sunday, tallying two goals, including a game-tying goal in the 49
th minute against Monmouth, despite the Huskies falling 4-3 in the contest. Stubbs leads all CAA freshman in points (22) and goals (10) this season.
