RICHMOND, Va. (October 25, 2022) – Towson junior Brian Benzing earned CAA Men’s Swimmer of the Week honors, while William & Mary senior Katie Stevenson was chosen as the CAA Women’s Swimmer of the Week. Delaware swept the league’s weekly diving awards with freshman Kevin Siegfried being named Men’s Diver of the Week for the second time and freshman Alex Pastris claiming her first Women’s Diver of the Week.
 
CAA Men’s Swimmer of the Week
Brian Benzing, Jr., Towson (Ellicott City, Md.)
 
Benzing posted three first-place finishes in helping lead Towson past CAA foe William & Mary, 216-77, last Saturday. The junior captured the 50 free in a time of 20.44, which is the fastest in the CAA this season and the 8th-fastest in Tigers’ history. He won the 100 fly with a time of 48.01, which is also the fastest in the CAA and the 5th-fastest ever at Towson. Benzing was also part of the Tigers’ winning 200 free relay team (1:31.10).
 
CAA Women’s Swimmer of the Week
Katie Stevenson, Sr., William & Mary (Wilton, Conn.)
Stevenson had an impressive weekend, sweeping the 50 and 100 freestyle events in William & Mary’s meets against Loyola (Md.) and Towson. In the 50 free, the senior registered winning times of 24.15 at Loyola and 24.26 at Towson. In the 100 free, she clocked first-place times of 51.91 at Loyola and 52.16 at Towson. Stevenson also helped the Tribe to winning efforts in the 200 medley and free relays at Loyola.

CAA Men’s Diver of the Week
Kevin Siegfried, Fr., Delaware (Chalfont, Pa.)
 
Seigfried earned his second CAA Diver of the Week honor after a pair of solid performances at Yale last weekend. The freshman placed third on the 3-meter board with a score of 299.03 and finished fourth in the 1-meter competition with a score of 249.75.
 
CAA Women’s Diver of the Week
Alex Pastris, Fr., Delaware (Broomall, Pa.)
 
Pastris turned in a pair of third-place finishes in Delaware’s meet at Yale last weekend. On the 1-meter board, the freshman compiled a NCAA Zone cut score of 269.33. In the 3-meter competition, she posted a score of 265.73. Both performances led the Blue Hens’ divers.
