Blue Hens Draw Lehigh in the Opening Round of the NCAA Tournament

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (Nov. 6, 2022) - Fresh off its fourth straight CAA Field Hockey Championship, Delaware learned it will face Lehigh in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament on Wednesday, November 9. The game will be played at Karen Shelton Stadium on the campus of the University of North Carolina at 2 p.m.
The winner of the opening round matchup will advance to face the top overall seed North Carolina in the first round on Friday, November 11.
Delaware is 15-7 all-time against Lehigh, including seven straight victories over the Mountain Hawks; however, it will be the first matchup between the teams since 1998.
It is Delaware's 13th appearance in the NCAA Tournament. The Blue Hens are 9-11 all-time in the big dance. Delaware captured the 2016 National Championship title following a 23-2 campaign and NCAA Tournament victories over Louisville, Duke, Princeton and North Carolina.
