INDIANAPOLIS (July 25, 2022) – Drexel lacrosse’s Karson Harris and Hofstra soccer’s Lucy Porter have been selected as the conference-level nominees for the NCAA Woman of the Year Award, the NCAA announced Monday.

Harris and Porter are two of 151 conference-level nominees recognized by the NCAA for the four pillars of academics, athletics, service, and leadership. The duo of CAA champions are two of 53 honorees at the Division I level; the full roster of conference-level nominees recorded an average GPA of 3.8.

Harris finished her collegiate career as the CAA’s all-time leader in draw controls and helped Drexel to its first two NCAA Tournament appearances in 2021 and 2022. The 2021 CAA Player of the Year finished her time in Philadelphia with 211 goals, 263 points, and 351 draw controls. Harris was a Tewaaraton nominee in 2021 and named to the award’s watch list in 2022 in addition to an IWLCA All-America honor in 2021 and All-Region selection in 2022.

Porter helped Hofstra to four NCAA Tournament appearances in her five seasons on Long Island. The three-time CAA Midfielder of the Year and two-time CAA Championship Most Outstanding Player ranks ninth in CAA history in points, 11th in goals, and 13th in assists in a collegiate career that was followed by time playing professionally in her native England. Porter was named an All-America honoree on the field by United Soccer Coaches and in the classroom by CoSIDA in each of the last two seasons and added a third United Soccer Coaches honor in 2019.
