Five from #CAALax Drafted in 2022 NLL Draft

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. (Sept. 10, 2022) – Five Colonial Athletic Association Men’s Lacrosse student-athletes were selected in the National Lacrosse League (NLL) draft on Saturday afternoon.
Three Delaware teammates and a pair of student-athletes from Stony Brook comprise the five representatives from the CAA. Delaware’s Owen Grant, Tye Kurtz and Jake Govett were drafted in the first round with picks three, 17 and 22, respectively. Grant was selected by the Vancouver Warriors, Kurtz went to the Albany Fire Wolves and Govett was chosen by the San Deigo Seals. From Stony Brook, Matt Anderson was taken in the second round with the 33rd overall pick by the Philadelphia Wings, and Chris Merle went in the fourth round, 74th overall to the Las Vegas Desert Dogs.
The NLL is a professional men’s lacrosse box league with fourteen teams across the United States and Canada. The indoor league begins in December and ends in April.
