BALTIMORE, Md. (Jan. 25, 2023) – Two Men’s CAA lacrosse players earned Preseason All-America honorees by Inside Lacrosse on Wednesday as Delaware teammates
Owen Grant and
Mike Robinson garnered accolades. A redshirt senior defender, Grant was named to the Preseason Second Team and senior attacker Robinson was an Honorable Mention.
Grant, the reigning two-time CAA Defensive Player of the Year, played a pivotal role on defense for the Blue Hens in 2022. He set a program record with 35 caused turnovers, which ranked second in the conference. He caused at least one turnover in 18-of-19 games and ranked 11th national in caused turnovers per game (1.84). The redshirt senior from Ontario earned All-American honors and was named first team All-CAA selection last season. In September, Grant was selected third overall by the Vancouver Warriors in the National Lacrosse League draft.
Robinson led the Blue Hens and the conference in goals with 53. He scored at least three goals in nine of the Blue Hens' 19 games in 2022, including a season-high six goals against NJIT. He tallied 68 points to rank second in the CAA, adding 15 assists on the year. He was named Second Team All-CAA, was a member of the CAA All-Tournament Team, and received USILA All-American recognitions in 2022.
Delaware Men’s Lacrosse is ranked No. 12 in the Inside Lacrosse Preseason Poll, which was released on Monday.
