Hofstra's McDonnell Named NCAA Cross Country Runner of the Week

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (Oct. 10, 2023) - Hofstra women's cross country student-athlete
Jordyn McDonnell was named the National Runner of the Week by NCAA Cross Country this afternoon.
The honor comes after being named CAA Women's Runner of the Week earlier this morning.
McDonell won the individual title at the Metropolitan Championships and shattered the Hofstra 5K program record in the process. The graduate student from Lake Ronkonkoma, New York, posted a personal-best time of 17:09.48 to beat out the field of 117 participants by over 20 seconds.
The individual title was the first for McDonnell this season and the fourth of her career. In addition, the honor marks the first national award for CAA Cross Country this season.
McDonnell and the Pride return to action on October 27 for the CAA Championships in Williamsburg, Virginia.
