UNH's Briscoe III Honored As FedEx Ground National Special Teams Player Of The Week

RICHMOND, Va. (October 2, 2023) – New Hampshire senior cornerback
Charles Briscoe III has been honored as the FedEx Ground FCS National Special Teams Player of the Week by Stats Perform.
Briscoe III had a dominating performance in the Wildcats’ 54-51 overtime loss to Towson. He blocked two punts, one which he recovered for a touchdown and the other setting up a UNH touchdown drive, and forced a fumble on the kickoff that opened the second half. His recovery occurred in the Towson end zone and gave the Wildcats a 48-38 lead. He also had three tackles.
Briscoe III is the third CAA player to receive a national honor this season, joining New Hampshire’s
Dylan Laube, who was the National Special Teams Player of the Week on Sept. 4, and William & Mary’s
Nate Lynn, who was the National Defensive Player of the Week on Sept. 18.
Along with Briscoe’s award, Stats Perform recognized Towson quarterback

Derek Robertson as National Offensive Player of the Week honorable mention selections, Elon defensive back
Caleb Curtain and North Carolina A&T linebacker

Griffin Woodell as National Freshman of the Week honorable mention selections.
Towson also received honorable mention for National Team of the Week after its 54-51 overtime victory at #14 New Hampshire.
