MANAHAWKIN, N.J. (Nov. 1, 2023) – William & Mary graduate forward Lauren Curran was named the Offensive Player of the Week by the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) on Wednesday morning.

The honor comes after being named the CAA Player of the Week on Monday, her second CAA weekly award in as many weeks.

Curran recorded eight points on four goals, leading W&M to back-to-back wins to conclude the regular season. Last Friday, the graduate forward tallied her first career hat trick in a 7-0 win over Queens (N.C.). Curran found the back of the cage twice in the first period before adding a tally in the third, becoming the first Tribe student-athlete to record a hat trick since 2018. On Sunday, Curran contributed one goal, helping W&M to a 3-0 win over Richmond.

Curran has at least one goal in four straight contests, racking up 14 points and seven tallies during that span. In addition, she ranks third in the CAA with 11 goals and fifth with 25 points this season.

The Tribe earned the No. 3 seed in the CAA Championship and opens postseason play on Friday. William & Mary will face second-seeded Drexel in the CAA Semifinals at 4 p.m. (FloLive).

It marks the third time this season CAA Field Hockey has had a National Player of the Week recognized by the NFHCA, with a different conference program represented each time.
