INDIANAPOLIS (Nov. 13, 2023) – The Hofstra men’s soccer team followed its CAA Championship by earning the No. 14 national seed and a bye into the Second Round of the NCAA Tournament.

Hofstra (13-3-4) will play in its third-straight NCAA Tournament after winning the CAA title, 2-1, in overtime over Monmouth on Saturday night in Hempstead. Pierce Infuso was named the Championship’s Most Outstanding Player.

The Pride, which ranks eighth in the RPI, sixth in total wins, and 11th in won-lost-tied percentage, will face either Bryant or Yale on Sunday. Bryant (16-1-2) won the America East title on Sunday to qualify for its first NCAA Tournament, while (10-5-3) captured the Ivy League crown on Sunday.

Hofstra has won five NCAA Tournament games since joining the CAA, most recently in 2021, when the Pride defeated Lipscomb, 4-2, in the First Round before routing No. 12 seed Penn State, 8-2, in the Seond Round.

The Pride is the first CAA team to earn a national seed since James Madison in 2011 and eighth since the top 16 were first seeded in 2003.

Sunday's game is slated for a 6 p.m. start; it can be seen on ESPN+.
