– Northeastern senior women’s cross country runner Abigail Hassman and junior men’s cross country runner Benjamin Godish will compete in the 2023 NCAA Cross Country National Championship meet on Saturday in Charlottesville, Va.

The women’s 6K begins at 10:20 a.m. EST, followed by the men’s 10K at 11:10 a.m. local. Coverage of the day’s events starts at 9:30 a.m. on ESPNU.

Godish and Hassman have experienced career seasons, both winning the CAA Individual titles last month, following individual victories at the ECAC/IC4A Championships. Hassman, who became the first Northeastern female to win the CAA individual crown in 2022, doubled down with a repeat performance in 2023. Additionally, Godish became the third consecutive individual champion for the Huskies on the men’s side.

Hassman reset her personal and program record in the 6K twice this fall, most recently en route to a fourth-place finish at the NCAA Northeast Regional Championship. Hassman covered the course in 19:57.5 to record the highest finish at the regional championships in Northeastern program history.

Godish posted career-best times in the 8K and 10K this season. The junior ran 23:55.7 to win the 8K event at the ECAC/IC4A Championships and finished seventh in the NCAA Northeast Regional with a personal-best mark of 29:51.7 in the 10K.

Student-athletes who finish top-40 at the NCAA Cross Country National Championships will earn All-America honors for the 2023 season.
