RICHMOND, Va. (Nov. 27, 2023) - Feast week is in the review mirror after four CAA teams went unbeaten over the past seven days. Here's your women's basketball notebook for week four.

PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Kylie Kornegay-Lucas, Towson
R-Senior | G | Camden, Del. / New Hope Academy
Kornegay-Lucas was named the Navy Classic MVP, leading Towson to a 2-0 weekend with 17.0 points, 9.0 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 3.5 steals per game. Against Abilene Christian, the redshirt senior paced Towson with 15 points and nine rebounds while adding season-highs with six assists and five steals in a 63-56 victory for the Tigers. She followed the performance by scoring a season-high 19 points with a team-best nine rebounds versus Quinnipiac, recording two steals and an assist as TU defeated the Bobcats 75-65.
 
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Maraja Pass, Elon
Freshman | G | Shelby, N.C. / Winston Salem Christian School
Pass averaged 8.0 points, 5.5 assists and 4.5 rebounds per game off the bench, helping Elon to a split at the Georgia State Thanksgiving Tournament. She opened the tournament with eight points, a season-best seven assists and four rebounds despite a narrow setback against Bradley (66-59). The Phoenix bounced back with a 75-68 win over Georgia State on Thanksgiving, as Pass contributed eight points, five rebounds, four assists and one steal.

NEWS & NOTES:
GIVE THANKS FOR NEW HARDWARE: 
Three CAA teams went unbeaten in tournaments over the week of Thanksgiving. Campbell went 2-0 at the Puerto Rico Classico, defeating Morgan State and Western Michigan in the Caribbean. Additionally, Kylie Kornegya-Lucas was named MVP of the Navy Classic, leading Towson to a 2-0 weekend with wins over Abilene Christian and Quinnipiac. Furthermore, William & Mary was crowned Champions, and Bella Nascimento was named MVP of the FIU Thanksgiving Tournament, defeating FIU and Tennessee State.  

CAA HOOPS IN THE MID-MAJOR TOP 25: Three CAA teams were recognized in the latest edition of the College Insider Mid-Major Top 25 poll. Stony Brook climbed to No. 20, and Towson remained ranked for the third straight week, coming in at No. 23. Additionally, North Carolina A&T received votes for the first time this season. Multiple conference teams have been recognized in back-to-back weeks, with at least one CAA ranked in every poll this season.

KEEPING IT 100: Three teams - Campbell, Charleston and North Carolina A&T - reached triple digits during the 2023-24 season. Charleston had done it twice, tallying a program-record 117 points in its season-opening victory over Pfeiffer and 112 points against N.C. Wesleyan. 117 points is the second-highest single-game point total in CAA Women’s Basketball history. North Carolina A&T earned a 114-41 win over Guilford in its home opener, marking the fifth time the Aggies surpassed 100 points under head coach Tarrell Robinson. Finally, Campbell scored 108 points in its first game as a CAA member, defeating N.C. Wesleyan.

One thing to know on each #CAAHoops team
Campbell: Christabel Ezumah averaged 14.0 points and 8.0 rebounds per game, shooting 57.1 percent (12-21) as Campbell went 2-0 at the Puerto Rico Classico. Ezumah ranks 20th in the NCAA in field goal percentage (62.3%) this season.
Charleston: On Monday, Jenna Annecchiarico recorded a program record 13 assists as part of Charleston's 2-0 week. Annecchiarico leads the NCAA in assit-to-turnover ratio (9.25) and assists per game (9.2). 
Delaware: Tara Cousins averaged 20.0 points per game, shooting 53.2 percent (25-47) from the floor and 41.7 percent (10-24) from three. Cousins had more than 20 points in two of three games, reaching double figures in all three at the Gulf Coast Showcase. 
Drexel: The Dragons have been dominant on defense, allowing just 48.5 points per game to rank eighth nationally. 
Elon: On Wednesday, Iycez Adams paced Elon with a career-high 18 points, adding a season-high nine rebounds, while Vanessa Taylor paced Elon with a season-best 15 points on Thursday. 
Hampton: On Friday, Cheyenne Talbot paced Hampton with a career-high 25 points, while Camryn Hill tallied a season-best 26 points on Saturday. 
Hofstra: Brooke Anya added a season-high 14 points against NJIT. The senior transfer from Longwood also totaled a team-best eight rebounds and a career-high four blocks.
Monmouth: Belle Kranbuhl tallied seven blocks in two games, including a season-high five on Wednesday. Kranbuhl has at least two blocks in every game this season, ranking eighth in the NCAA with 3.0 blocks per contest.
North Carolina A&T: Jordyn Dorsey reached double figures in both games for A&T, averaging 12.0 points per contest. Dorsey has 10 or more points five times this season, including three straight. 
UNCW: Taylor Henderson averaged 17.0 points per game, including a career-high 26 points against Coastal Carolina. It marks the first time the freshman has surpassed 20 points.
Northeastern: Derin Erdogan paced Northeastern against Columbia with 13 points, adding four rebounds and three assists. Erdogan has reached double figures in four games this season. 
Stony Brook: Gigi Gonzalez arecorded her first double-double this season against Delaware State. She tallied 11 points and matched a career-high with 10 assists. 
Towson: Patricia Anumgba reached double figures in both games at the Navy Classic, averaging 14.5 points per game. Anumgba has at least 10 points in all four games this year.
William & Mary: The Tribe won the FIU Thanksgiving Tournament behind 17.5 points per game from Nylah Young. The graduate forward has a league-best four 20-point performances and reached double figures in every game this season. She ranks 23rd nationally with 21.0 points per game.
