RICHMOND, Va. (November 7, 2023) – The CAA has announced its top freshmen performers for the month of October in swimming and diving. UNCW freshman William Carrico was chosen as the Men’s Rookie Swimmer of the Month, while Towson freshman Addie Scott received Women’s Rookie Swimmer of the Month honors. UNCW freshman Etan Ferguson was selected as the Men’s Rookie Diver of the Month.

William Carrico, Fr., UNCW (Durham, N.H.)
 
Carrico recorded seven individual event victories during the opening month of the season, including two wins against Duke and one against South Carolina. The freshman owns top three times in the conference in five different events, including the top performance in the 400 IM (3:59.84). He’s also third in the 200 free (1:40.91), second in the 500 free (4:34.54), third in the 200 breast (2:04.05) and third in the 200 IM (1:52.62).
 
CAA Women’s Rookie Swimmer of the Month
Addie Scott, Fr., Towson (Nottingham, Pa.)

Scott has registered six individual victories and four wins in relays over the opening month. The freshman currently holds the fastest time in the CAA in the 200 free (1:50.72) and the fastest time in the conference in the 500 free (4:57.52). Her time of 2:01.82 in the 200 back is the second best in the league thus far.

Etan Ferguson, Fr., UNCW (Greensboro, N.C.)
 
Ferguson has the third-best performance among CAA divers on the 3-meter board with a score of 251.18 at Duke, and the seventh-best outing on the 1-meter board with a score of 255.83 at Duke.
