GENEVA, N.Y. (Dec. 12, 2023) – CAA Defensive Player of the Year Lauren Rowe of Northeastern and William & Mary junior midfielder Pyper Friedman garnered All-America honors for the 2023 season announced by the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) on Tuesday morning.

It marks the third straight season CAA Field Hockey has had multiple student-athletes earn All-America accolades. Both Friedman and Rowe collected Third Team All-America recognition from the NFHCA.

A four-time First Team All-CAA selection, Rowe adds her first All-America distinction to an esteemed career at Northeastern. The graduate student from Norwich, England, led the Huskies with 26 points this season, matching team highs with nine goals and eight assists. Rowe ranked first in the CAA in assists per game (0.47), third in points per game (1.53) and fourth in goals per game (0.53). The 2023 CAA Defensive Player of the Year collected her fourth NFHCA Northeast Region First Team honors earlier this month and CAA All-Tournament team recognition in November.

After receiving All-CAA First Team recognition this fall, Friedman collected her first All-America honor. The junior from Phoenix, Md., posted career highs in points, goals and assists this season. Friedman tallied a team-high eight assists and ranked second for the Tribe with 24 points and eight goals. She contributed nine points in the postseason, including two goals and one assist in the CAA Tournament, helping W&M to its first conference title and NCAA Tournament berth since 2018.

Rowe becomes the 42nd All-American in Northeastern program history but the first since 2014, while Friedman is the 14th All-American for the Tribe and first since 2019.
