AUSTIN, Texas (Dec. 19, 2023) – Drexel men's soccer senior Youri Senden was named to the College Sports Communicators First Team Academic All-America Team, the organization announced on Tuesday. Senden is the fifth player in program history to earn Academic All-American distinction.

Senden was the 2023 CAA Defender of the Year and is the first player in Drexel men's soccer history to win the major conference award since the Dragons joined the conference in 2002. The Voerendaal, Netherlands native also earned first-team All-CAA honors for the second straight year. Senden played all but three minutes this season for Drexel, exiting on Senior Day at the conclusion of a 6-0 victory over Fairleigh Dickinson. Senden scored a goal against NJIT, and despite playing 1457 minutes, he picked up only one yellow card. Senden also earned CSC Academic All-District, a spot on the Philadelphia Soccer Six All-Star Team and was also named the PhillySIDA Men’s Soccer Performer of the Year.
