KANSAS CITY, Mo. (Dec. 6, 2023) – United Soccer Coaches and the Missouri Athletic Club (MAC) have announced the 15 men’s semifinalists for the 2023 MAC Hermann Trophy, based on voting by NCAA Division I Men’s soccer coaches, and Hofstra junior midfielder Eliot Goldthorp earned a spot on the list. He is just the second Hofstra men’s soccer student-athlete to be a semifinalist, joining Hendrik Hebbeker (2021).

The MAC Hermann Trophy is the most coveted individual honor in NCAA Division I soccer and has been awarded annually since 1967.

Goldthorp, the 2023 CAA Player of the Year, recorded eight goals and a program-record 15 assists for 31 points this past season. The nation’s leader in assists, Goldthorp was also a First Team All-Atlantic Region and All-CAA selection, as well as an All-CAA Championship pick. In his two seasons at Hofstra, Goldthorp recorded 25 goals and 21 assists for 71 points in 43 games.

Three men’s finalists will be named for the award on Wednesday, Dec. 13 after voting by NCAA Division I coaches who are members of United Soccer Coaches. The 2023 MAC Hermann Trophy winner will then be announced at a press conference at the historic Missouri Athletic Club in St. Louis on Jan. 5, 2024, followed by a dinner to celebrate all of the 2023 finalists.
