CAA Indoor Track & Field Weekly Awards – Feb. 21

RICHMOND, Va. (Feb. 21, 2023) – The CAA has announced its final edition of Indoor Track and Field weekly awards for the 2022-23 season. On the women’s side, Elon freshman sprinter Reese Webster earned CAA Track Athlete of the Week, and William & Mary senior thrower Keeley Suzenski was CAA Field Athlete of the Week. Monmouth redshirt sophomore pole vaulter Dalton Yeust received CAA Field Athlete of the Week accolades for the men.
WOMEN’S TRACK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
Reese Webster, Elon
Freshman | Sprints | San Juan, Trinidad & Tobago / Bishop Anstey
Webster broke the Elon program record in the 60m dash at the JDL DMR Invitational. The freshman ran 7.60 in the finals to take first place at the event. The mark positions her third in the conference heading into the CAA Championships this week.
WOMEN’S FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
Keeley Suzenski, William & Mary
Senior | Throws | Fleetwood, Pa. / Berks Catholic
Suzenski won the shot put at the Navy Select and earned a top-five finish in the weight throw. The senior thrower recorded a mark of 14.61m (47-11.25) to win gold in the shot put while throwing 16.44m (53-11.25) to take fourth in the weight throw. Suzenski enters the conference championship second on the CAA’s shot put performance list with her season-best mark (15.20m).
MEN’S FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
Dalton Yeust, Monmouth
R-Sophomore | Pole Vault | Tunkhannock, Pa. / Tunkhannock Area
Yeust broke the Monmouth program record in the pole vault for the second time this season at the Garden State Track Club Invitational. The redshirt sophomore vaulter recorded a league-leading clearance of 4.95m (16-02.75) to win the event. Yuest ranks first in the CAA by 0.35m this winter.
