CAA Men’s Lacrosse Weekly Awards – Feb. 27

RICHMOND, Va. (Feb. 27, 2023) – The CAA has announced its third men’s lacrosse weekly awards for the 2023 season. Stony Brook senior attacker Dylan Pallonetti was named CAA Offensive Player of the Week, and Monmouth senior defender Michael Quigg was selected as the CAA Defensive Player of the Week. Additionally, freshman goalkeeper Will Snyder of Fairfield received CAA Rookie of the Week accolades. 
  
OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Dylan Pallonetti, Stony Brook
Senior | Attack | Stony Brook, N.Y. / Ward Melville Maryland
Pallonetti tallied 14 points, scoring 10 goals with four assists to lead Stony Brook to a 2-0 week. On Friday, the senior attackman registered a career-high 10 points by matching a personal best with six goals and recording a career-best four assists. He added six ground balls as the Seawolves won their first game this season, defeating Air Force 15-8. The 10 points match the second most in a game in league history, while his point and goal totals are single-game league highs this spring. Pallonetti followed the performance with a team-high four goals in a 15-12 win over Sacred Heart on Sunday. The Long Island native has at least two goals in every game this season and is second in the nation with a 32-game scoring streak. 
  
DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Michael Quigg, Monmouth  
Senior | Defense | East Windsor, N.J. / Hightstown
Quigg anchored a Monmouth defense that limited back-to-back
opponents to single digits in a 2-0 week for the Hawks. Against NJIT, Quigg recorded a career-high three caused turnovers and scooped up four ground balls in a 14-9 win for Monmouth’s first this season. The senior defender added one caused turnover and one ground ball in a 10-6 win over LIU as the Monmouth defense held the Sharks to one goal over the final 40 minutes of the contest. 
  
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Will Snyder, Fairfield 
Freshman | Goalkeeper | Brightwaters, N.Y. / St. Anthony’s
Snyder started his first two games between the pipes, posting a 7.50 goals-against average and .571 save percentage with 20 saves for the Stags. In his first career start, Snyder tallied nine saves with a .643 save percentage as Fairfield defeated Sacred Heart 17-5. He also added two ground balls and a caused turnover in the victory. Snyder followed the performance with his first career double-digit save effort, recording 11 against Richmond and posting a .524 save percentage with two ground balls despite a 10-8 setback against the Spiders.
