RICHMOND, Va. (March 2, 2023) – Final non-conference preparations on the diamond, a challenging slate on the lacrosse field, and a return to CAA rowing competition highlight the weekend's action.
 
Softball
All 11 CAA teams will hit the diamond this weekend before conference play starts next Friday. Four teams will face a Power Five opponent this weekend. UNCW and North Carolina A&T will be at South Carolina, where they will play the Gamecocks and Illinois, along with a non-conference game against each other. Delaware and Monmouth will also see Big Ten adversaries as the Blue Hens wrap up the Pirate-Spartan Classic with Penn State and the Hawks take on Maryland in the East Carolina Invitational. | Weekend Schedule
 
Women’s Lacrosse
A weekend highlighted by four games against ranked opponents. Friday’s lone game pits No. 6 Stony Brook against No. 17 Stanford in San Diego before Saturday’s schedule starts out with Drexel hosting No. 19 Johns Hopkins (11 a.m., FloLive) and concludes with Hofstra welcoming No. 16 Army to Hempstead (3 p.m., FloLive). The schedule in between includes Monmouth receiving a visit from one-time conference foe Sacred Heart (11 a.m., FloLive), Towson receiving a visit from Central Michigan (12 p.m., FloLive), and Delaware taking on Georgetown (3 p.m., FloLive). Sunday’s one game will see Elon make a trip to No. 10 Virginia (12 p.m., ACCNX). | Weekend Schedule
 
Men’s Lacrosse
Seven of eight conference teams will be in action on Saturday, with six face-offs at noon. Monmouth, riding a three-game winning streak, starts the day at 11 a.m. on the road against Mount St. Mary’s. Highlighting the noon slate, Hofstra hosts No. 15/18 Villanova, and Delaware entertains Big Ten foe Michigan, with both games available on FloLive. Also, at home, Stony Brook welcomes Brown to LaValle Stadium on LacrosseTV. Teams hitting the road include Towson traveling across town to face UMBC (AE.tv), who is receiving votes in the national polls, Fairfield visiting Providence (FloLive), and Drexel heading to Sacred Heart. | Weekend Schedule
 
Baseball
It’s the final full weekend of non-conference action in CAA baseball. Seven teams will play home series as UNCW faces Columbia and Towson meets Eastern Michigan in four-game series, while Delaware takes on Rider and Elon plays Quinnipiac in there-game sets. Charleston challenges Michigan State twice and Air Force once, North Carolina A&T battles twice with Western Michigan and once with Bucknell, and William & Mary plays West Virginia, Fairfield and Canisius on successive days. Hitting the road this weekend are Stony Brook, which plays a three-game series at #13 North Carolina, Northeastern, which takes a four-game winning streak to USF, and Hofstra, which tries to extend a three-game win streak at Nevada. Rowing
Two CAA crews are slated to hit the water this weekend to open the spring rowing season. UC San Diego will be on Mission Bay in a dual meet against Loyola Marymount, while Eastern Michigan heads to Tuscaloosa for a dual meet against Alabama on the Black Warrior River. 

Tennis
CAA men’s tennis includes a pair of conference matches Elon hosts Hampton and Monmouth visits Delaware. In other action, William & Mary battles in-state foe JMU, UNCW welcomes Longwood, Elon entertains Wofford, Drexel hosts LIU, North Carolina A&T meets King, Hofstra plays Brown and St. Francis Brooklyn and Charleston meets Davidson and Stonehill.
 
On the women’s side, there are also two CAA matches as Monmouth hosts Towson and Hampton travels to Elon. In other action, Charleston meets Stetson and Oakland in Florida, Delaware faces Fairleigh Dickinson and Navy, Drexel visits NJIT, Elon hosts Middle Tennessee and Methodist, Hofstra welcomes St. Francis Brooklyn, North Carolina A&T makes the short trip to North Carolina Central, UNCW plays Mount Olive and Longwood, Stony Brook is at Bryant and Rhode Island, Towson travels to Rider, and William & Mary faces Charlotte and Liberty in Lynchburg.
 
Golf
In men’s action, Charleston will play Pinehurst for an event hosted by Wake Forest, Hofstra begins its spring at the South Jersey Kick Off and will be joined by Monmouth, and UNCW heads to Auburn.
 
Women’s events include North Carolina A&T’s visit to Nashville for the Starks Invitational and UNCW and Towson taking a trip to Hawaii for the Dr. Donnis Thompson Invitational in what will be the Tigers’ spring opener.
