RICHMOND, Va. (March 15, 2023) – Elon’s Matthew Doyle, Delaware’s Casper Nerpin, and Charleston’s Viktoria Hund are the CAA Golfers of the Week.
 
MEN’S CO-GOLFER OF THE WEEK
Matthew Doyle, Elon
Sophomore | Summerville, S.C. / Daniel Hand (Conn.)
Doyle led all competitors across three CAA teams in action at the Ross Collegiate Classic in North Carolina. The sophomore from South Carolina tied for seventh at 2-under for the tournament and helped Elon to a third-place finish. Doyle birdied four of his first eight holes in the opening round and went 71-70-73 at the Mid Pines Inn and Golf Club.
 
MEN’S CO-GOLFER OF THE WEEK
Casper Nerpin, Delaware
Freshman | Stockholm, Sweden
Nerpin tied for ninth to help Delaware to a fifth-place result at the Bash at the Beach in Myrtle Beach. The freshman from Sweden was 2-under at the par-71 Surf Golf and Beach Club and finished his final day strong, sinking an eagle on 17 to get under par in the third and final round. The Blue Hens were the top team of the two CAA members competing.
 
WOMEN’S GOLFER OF THE WEEK
Viktoria Hund, Charleston
Junior | Bremen, Germany / Ökumenisches Gymnasium
Hund turned in a top-10 finish at Charleston’s Briar’s Creek Invitational to help the Cougars place seventh in a competitive field. Hund was 1-under for the event with a 71-71-73 performance and carded nine birdies across three round and was a tournament-best 3.90 on par-4s during the week.

Elon placed third, William & Mary seventh, and Towson 15th at the Ross Collegiate Classic … Matthew Doyle and Juan Callejo were in the top 10 for Elon, Matthew Feinstein led W&M, and was tied with Towson’s Jeremy Summerson for 14th … Delaware finished fifth and North Carolina A&T 16th at the Bash at the Beach … Casper Nerpin turned in a top-10 performance for the Blue Hens and Martin Gutierrez led the Aggies … Drexel’s visit to Oregon for the Bandon Dunes Championship was shortened to 36 holes due to weather; Griffin Mitchell turned in a top-10 performance for the Dragons.
 
Women’s Notes
UNCW won the River Landing Classic by three strokes over James Madison … Victoria Levy, Mallory Fobes, Phu Khine, and Deborah Spair all placed in the top 10 … Elon was seventh at the event and led by the duo of Annabelle Ackroyd and Leiu Yuenyong, while North Carolina A&T placed 10th with Jayla Rogers pacing the Aggies … Monmouth played in Sacred Heart’s event at LPGA International and was led by a top-15 result from Paige Diecidue.
