Maresa Moyer are the CAA Women’s Lacrosse weekly award winners for their performances over the last week.
PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Ellie Masera, Stony Brook
Junior | Midfield | Eastport, N.Y. / Eastport-South Manor
Masera is Player of the Week for the second time this season after an outstanding offensive performance in No. 5 Stony Brook’s win over Delaware. The junior from Long Island notched seven goals and an assist along with two ground balls, one draw control, and one caused turnover in a 19-6 Seawolves victory; the seven goals are a career-high and eight points match the top mark of Masera’s collegiate career.
DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Elise Palmer, William & Mary
Sophomore | Goalkeeper | St. Davids, Pa. / Radnor
Palmer turned aside 29 shots in a pair of William & Mary wins. The sophomore from Pennsylvania stopped 18 Columbia shots in a 14-10 comeback win in the snow in New York before notching 11 saves in the Tribe’s first win over Hofstra since 2013. Palmer contributed a .569 save percentage and 11.00 goals-against average in the 2-0 week.
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Maresa Moyer, William & Mary
Freshman | Midfield | Crofton, Md. / Mount de Sales Academy
Moyer led William & Mary in goals and points as the Tribe went 2-0 and opened CAA play with a victory. The midfielder from Maryland notched two goals and two assists in a comeback win at Columbia before tallying two goals in the Tribe’s CAA-opening win over Hofstra.
